Editors have been in and out of rotation for me consistently for the past seven years.
They’re a band that you know is capable of putting out a lot of sound, but they hold back. They’re restrained and there’s something kind of appealing about that when a lot of music is about throwing as much sound at you as possible. Blood, in particular, is one of their more sonically aggressive songs from the early days of the band. I particularly like the lyrics, “Blood runs through our veins, that’s where our similarities end.” If you’re an anglophile and want to get into the UK prog-rock scene (does anyone have such specific desires?), Editors is a good place to start.
